March 4, 2010: 45nm Open Cell MegaLibrary and Nangate Design Optimizer evaluation
Next-generation design optimization solution from Nangate is now available for free evaluation by industrial customers using the free 45nm Open Cell MegaLibrary, allowing easy access to design performance improvements ahead of final design
implementation.
SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA - Nangate Inc., the leading supplier of digital cell library development and design optimization solutions, announced that it has released the 45nm Open Cell MegaLibraryTM to support the existing 45nm Open Cell Library that has become a standard for university research programs and in EDA and fabless organizations since it was released in 2008. The 45nm Open Cell MegaLibrary was created using the Nangate
Library CreatorTM.
MegaLibrary is a new type of standard-cell library containing
a very large set of fine-grained cell variants that enable the digital logic of
an IP core or SoC design to operate with significantly higher performance than
with the traditional standard-cell library approach. This is done through the
application of library sub-setting, deployed using Nangate Design OptimizerTM
(NDO), integrating seamlessly with existing EDA design flows from synthesis
through to back-end place & route.
Industrial customers keen to explore the performance
improvements that Nangate MegaLibrary and Design Optimizer can bring to their digital
IP core and SoC designs can now do so using the free 45nm Open Cell
MegaLibrary. A special release of NDO that includes the Synopsys Design
Compiler interface module is now available and customers are invited to request
a free evaluation license and discover the significant benefits of this next-generation
design optimization solution.
The full release version of NDO interfaces with all the
major EDA flows at synthesis and place & route stages and can be purchased
to allow customer designs to be optimized using commercially available
MegaLibrary releases already developed for major foundry production processes.
"We are very excited about the release of the 45nm Open Cell
MegaLibrary," says Ole C. Andersen, co-founder and CEO of Nangate Inc. "It will
allow easy access to one of the most advanced design optimization solutions
available to digital designers today, and will enable them to explore the
considerable performance benefits it can bring to real designs without cost or
risk."
"We have seen significant improvements in static power
and area performance when deploying a Nangate MegaLibrary and Nangate Design
Optimizer on a TSMC production design," says Graham Curren, CEO of
Sondrel, a leading provider of silicon design services. "The 45nm Open Cell
MegaLibrary is an excellent way for designers to explore extra design
performance gains before implementing with a foundry-specific MegaLibrary on
their production process node."
The 45nm Open Cell MegaLibrary, designed to be used only
through Nangate Design Optimizer, can be downloaded free of charge after
successful registration on Nangate's website. It will enable digital
designers to easily and rapidly discover the many possible design performance
improvements that library sub-setting enables in terms of speed, power or area
or a combination thereof, ahead of making the final production decisions on
process and foundry. To register for a free trial of the Nangate Design Optimizer, complete the special registration form.
The Open Modeling Coalition (OMC) under Si2 already uses the
Nangate 45nm library as an integral part of the reference flow for the DFM,
Statistical and Characterization & Validation working groups.
Nangate will demonstrate the MegaLibrary and Design Optimizer, along with the company's other products, at
DATE in Dresden March 8-12, 2010.
