The comprehensive research by Prof. André Reis includes several areas that are highly relevant to NanGate.
He has researched the areas of cell layout design from 1987 to 1990, automatic cell layout algorithms from 1991 to 1993, technology mapping using virtual libraries from 1994 to 1999, and logic and physical synthesis for different logic families and transistor topologies since 2000.
Dr. Reis holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from UFRGS Brazil, an M.S. degree in Computer Science from UFRGS Brazil and a PhD in Automatic and Microelectronics Systems from Université Montpellier II, France.
In addition to being a tenured professor in the Computer Science Department of UFRGS, Dr. Reis has been a visiting professor at University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA. Furthermore, he is thesis advisor for the MS and PhD programs in Computer Science as well as co-founder and thesis advisor for the PhD program in microelectronics at UFRGS.
Dr. Reis has written more than 100 academic publications, co-authored books on digital circuit design and received the best paper award at the IFIP VLSI conference. Dr. Reis is member of the Brazilian Microelectronics Society (SBMICRO), ACM and a senior member of the IEEE.
